~ June is National Reunification Month ~
While May shines a light on the resource families who provide temporary care, June reminds us why that care exists in the first place.
The goal of foster care is, and should be, reunification whenever it can be achieved safely. This month, we celebrate the parents, grandparents, relatives, and families who put in the hard work of healing, growing, and overcoming challenges to bring their children home.
Reunification is rarely a simple journey. It often involves difficult conversations, navigating systems, meeting requirements, rebuilding trust, and demonstrating tremendous perseverance. Yet every day, families across the country are doing exactly that.
Strengthening and preserving families is one of the most important investments we can make. Reunification represents hope and the belief that families can heal when given support and opportunity.
The families who have successfully reunified... Those families actively working toward reunification...
The professionals, advocates, and communities who help make those reunions possible..
We see you and celebrate you π
