Soroptimist International of the Adirondacks Soroptimist International of the Adirondacks (SIA) is an organization for business and professional women who volunteer in our local communities.

We are part of an international organization of nearly 95,000 Soroptimists in about 125 countries and territories contributing time and financial support to community-based and international projects benefiting women and children. The name, Soroptimist, means "best for women"; Soroptimists are women at their best working to help other women to be their best, and that's what the organizations strives to achieve.

Soroptimist of the Adirondacks, along with the Soroptimiss, attended and supported the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event! Every step, every donation, and every show of support brings us closer to a world without breast cancer.

We're proud to stand alongside so many amazing people who are raising awareness, supporting those affected by breast cancer, and honoring survivors and loved ones. đź’•

The SoroptiMiss Club of Glens Falls High School were creative with face painting and temporary tattoos. Our Sisters appreciate our new friends and contacts to continue our mission. Soroptimist International of the Adirondacks was honored to sponsor and proudly participate in the 250th Women's March to Equality at Crandall library!

We are lucky enough to be one of the beneficiaries of the Adirondack W**e & Food Festival this weekend in Lake George. Congratulations to our own Barbara Ryan, who was honored Saturday evening at the Adirondack Folk School's annual gala. In a packed ballroom at the Queensbury Hotel, Barb was announced as the recipient of the Adirondack Folk School's 2026 Patron of the Arts award.

Barb discovered the folk school ten years ago, and after taking her first felting class, quickly fell in love with the craft and the school. Since then, she has been a dedicated student, generous supporter and enthusiastic ambassador for Adirondack Folk School (AFS).

The award recognizes Barb's commitment to the arts, lifelong learning, and the AFS community. This year also marks a new milestone for her as she prepares to teach her first felting class at AFS.

Barb's passion, creativity, and generosity inspire many! Please join us in celebrating Barb and this well-earned honor!
