Last week we had the honor of presenting our apprentice Chad Ysen with his stipend check from NRWA.

Chad who works for the Town of Dubois, has been working very hard to complete his wastewater training and log his on-the-job training hours. This was a great way to reward him for his dedication to his training and everything he has learned in this program.

Documenting your groundwater usage and levels is a critical component of growing a sustainable utility. WARWS is so grateful to the Town of Glenrock for allowing us to practice with our equipment on their wells! We also shared a great lunch courtesy of our Source Water Protection Specialist, Brian Linton. (Ask him for his rolls recipe, they’re delicious!)

This class is designed to answer the questions that many new operators have regarding their systems - things we wish we'd have known when we started in the industry. Private well owners are encouraged to 𝐀𝐂𝐓: 𝐀cknowledge its importance, 𝐂onsider potential risks, and 𝐓ake action by scheduling an annual inspection to keep your water safe.

• Department of Environmental Quality, Water Quality Division’s Know Your Well Program contains information on common well contaminants, testing information, and links to other resources related to water quality for private domestic well owners.
• Local Conservation Districts may have resources available including well sampling assistance or cost sharing programs for laboratory analytical services.
• Wyoming State Engineer's Office Groundwater Section will be able to assist with information and questions regarding well permits and water rights.
• The Wyoming Water Well Contractor’s Licensing Board is available to assist in finding a licensed professional to work on your well or install water treatment.

WARWS welcomes new staff! Please welcome Mike Fronapfel from Guernsey, Wyoming to the WARWS family! Mike is replacing Randy Rumpler as Circuit Rider. Randy will be retiring in September, so congratulate him on that if he stops by. Mike was previously Director of Public Works for the Town of Guernsey and has a vast experience in making things work in the Distribution and Collection systems. Welcome, Mike, we’re glad you’re here!
