πŸ’™πŸ’› Last week, the Rotary Club was pleased to welcome Suzanna Foster from ACTION Pact. 🀝

Suzanna shared information about the many valuable services and programs ACTION Pact provides throughout our community, particularly for senior citizens. πŸ‘΅πŸ‘΄β€οΈ These services include transportation to and from the senior center, helping seniors stay active, connected, and engaged with friends. 🚌✨

ACTION Pact also provides nutritious meals five days a week to more than 40 seniors. 🍽️πŸ₯— Meals can be enjoyed at the senior center or delivered directly to those who are homebound. πŸš—πŸ‘

Last year alone, ACTION Pact delivered approximately 7,700 meals and served an additional 5,500 meals at the senior center. πŸŽ‰πŸ‘ What an incredible impact on our community! ❀️

Thank you, Suzanna, for taking the time to speak with our club and for the important work ACTION Pact does to support the seniors in our area. πŸ’™πŸ’›

Growing, learning, and serving together. πŸ’™βš™οΈ

Today our club members attended the District Learning Assembly as part of the District Conference. We spent the day connecting with fellow Rotarians and participating in sessions on service projects, club administration, membership growth, grants, and more.

It was an inspiring reminder that Rotary is always evolving, and there are so many opportunities to strengthen our clubs and better serve our communities. We left with new ideas, fresh perspectives, and plenty of excitement for the year ahead.

A huge shoutout to all of our club members who took the time to invest in Rotary leadership and learning today. Your dedication to service above self helps make our club stronger and our impact greater. πŸŒŽπŸ’™βš™οΈ

Today at the Rotary Club, we had the honor of welcoming Lindsay Smith, GBI Region Five Special Agent in Charge πŸ‘ What an inspiring woman! πŸ’™ She has dedicated over 23 years of her life to serving others.

Lindsay shared that her passion began during her high school summers, when she started visiting her local police department to explore her future career path πŸš“βœ¨ Over the years, she has had the opportunity to be involved in major events, including the Masters β›³

She gave a fascinating presentation on the various divisions within the GBI, highlighting the wide range of career opportunities available. She also provided insight into salaries, specialized roles, and the many responsibilities of a GBI agent, such as investigating criminal activity πŸ”, processing unknown crime scenes πŸ§ͺ, conducting interviews πŸ—£οΈ, and testifying in court βš–οΈ

Lindsay also walked us through the requirements to become a GBI agent, including basic law enforcement training, GBI Basic Academy, advanced training, defensive tactics, fi****ms certification πŸ”«, EVOC πŸš”, and warrant services. She touched on digital forensic investigations πŸ’» (which require a bachelor’s degree πŸŽ“), as well as the GBI crime lab, medical examiner’s office, the Child Fatality Review Program, and the public alert systems we have here in Georgia πŸ“’

These alert systems include Blue Alert πŸ”΅, Kimberly’s Call πŸ’œ, Levi’s Call (AMBER Alert) 🚨, and Matthew’s Call πŸ§“

🌎 Happy Earth Day from the Rotary Club! 🌿

Today is a reminder that protecting our planet starts right here in our own community. Every bottle picked up, every piece of litter removed, and every small action adds up to a cleaner, healthier Earth for our waterways, our wildlife, and future generations.
Our recent community cleanup was more than just a project,it was a commitment to environmental stewardship and caring for the world around us. What we do on land directly impacts our rivers, our oceans, and the life within them.
A huge thank you to our incredible Rotary Club members who showed up and made a difference: Pam Waters, Terry Waters, Paul Peterson, Bethany Peterson, Tyler D’Alto, and Lizzie D’Alto πŸ’š
Let this Earth Day be a reminder that we all have a role to play. Together, we can protect, preserve, and love the place we call home 🌊🌱
