There is ample scientific evidence that HBOT helps injured brains to heal, but how long after injury must HBOT begin before it’s too late to help? Now, for the first time, there is hard proof that adults who suffered pediatric TBIs can still see cognitive gains even decades post-injury. Neurofeedback is one of the safe, alternative therapies the BART Foundation believes may help brain injury survivors. We want to share with you a recent literature review of small, independent research studies using this treatment method. The outcomes show that EEG-NFB is a potential method to improve cognitive deficits in patients with neurological disorders, including TBI. However, its effectiveness is often criticized because there are no specific protocols. Still, for many families and individuals seeking TBI support, the treatment modality may be effective. Have you visited our Resources page? If you're looking for practitioners in your area, it can help you get started. In some states, anyone can hang out a shingle, even without suitable training or credentials, and claim to be a craniosacral worker, neurofeedback practitioner, nutritionist, or another therapist. To address this critical pitfall, we have consulted acknowledged thought leaders in each field, followed their guidance, and presented lists of practitioners who are likely to be well qualified. The BART Foundation does not make specific referrals, but we are always here to answer questions and speak of our personal experiences. Let us know if we can help!
