Glendora Lassie League Junior Olympic Recreational Fastpitch 6u-16u All-Girls League in USA Softball's Northern District

The Glendora Lassie League is a USA softball-affiliated fastpitch recreational softball program with six divisions open to female athletes of any skill level from 4.5 to 16 years of age. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was established in 2010 to help fill a gap in youth sports in the city of Glendora. In the 11 years since its inception, the league has grown substantially and today

attracts players from surrounding cities including Covina, San Dimas, La Verne, Azusa, and Duarte among others. Our home fields at Louie Pompei Memorial Sports Park are regarded by players and coaches as among the best in the San Gabriel Valley. The volunteers who run our program are committed to promoting girls' softball by providing a safe and fun environment to learn and play. We provide quality instruction from knowledgeable coaches, emphasize the importance of teamwork, instill strong ethics (like honesty, loyalty, respect, and fairness), good sportsmanship, and a sense of common values that benefit our players, their families, our city, and the state of California. After an epic Saturday, winning 4 of 5 games over a 14 hour span, our 10u All Stars placed 6th out of 34 teams in the State Tournament, earning a spot to compete in the National Tournament in Salem, Oregon, July 25.-July 30. In the 6U division, there is no “District Championship Tournament.” 6u is considered Developmental. 6U is a look into GLL’s future. Our 6u All Stars won the most games. And I know we had many more future stars in our 6u division this season. I asked Coach Manuel, first time manager, for his record. Great job Manny. I’m henry and it’s been an honor to serve Glendora Lassie League as your president. These last two weekends we hosted over 75 games for the Northern District of Southern California USA Softball. Special thanks to our board members who planned, organized, worked, and ran this event. Special thanks to the Clayton’s, the Fowler’s, the Malczynski’s, the Salazar’s, and the Taylor’s. I just smile and shake hands, but our board members do the heavy lifting. As well as our future board members that I got to meet over the past two weekends. I am honored and proud to announce that our three teams (8u, 10u, and 12u) qualified for the State Championship tournament, and our 10u and 12u teams went undefeated this weekend and won “the chip.” District Champions! Although we’re not done yet, my job is done for the year. And I thank our community for your support this year. It has been an honor, a privilege, and a pleasure to serve the community I live in, and you have reminded me why I love Glendora so much. Good luck GLL. Have a wonderful summer everyone.
