✨ Warrior Story: Fritzie ✨
After years of searching for answers, Fritzie and her husband learned that IVF would be their only path to parenthood. Today, they have two beautiful children, including a son who turns one this week 🥹🧡
We’re honored to share a glimpse of their journey:
“Our journey to parenthood was not easy. After years of marriage and wondering why it wasn’t happening for us, we decided to find some answers. In 2020, we started going to multiple consultations and undergoing various tests to figure out what could be the problem. That’s when we found out that IVF was the only way we could have children.
It was rough. We decided to take a break to really think about what we wanted and prepare ourselves. We told ourselves we were only going to do this once. One shot, and whatever came from it, we would accept.
In July 2021, we started treatment. We had our egg retrieval: 15 eggs were retrieved, 8 fertilized, and 3 made it to the blastocyst stage. We did PGT-A testing and officially had two beautiful embryos frozen and waiting for us—a boy and a girl.
With no insurance coverage for fertility treatments, we had to pay for every expense ourselves. In addition to the emotional, mental, and physical stress, it was financially draining. We decided to recover and take a break for a few months. By the end of 2021, we started doing the procedures our doctors recommended before moving forward with an embryo transfer.
In March 2022, we transferred our girl. Scared and uncertain if it would work, we surrendered everything and held onto hope. It worked! In Dec 2022, we welcomed our first child.
Now, fast forward three years later, and our son is turning 1 this week. It’s been almost 5 years since we started treatment.
It was a long journey, but IVF made it possible for us to build our family. We will be forever grateful for science.
Not all treatments end with babies. Our hearts go out to everyone still waiting for their miracle, everyone in the thick of it, and everyone facing similar challenges. Because unless you’ve lived it, it’s hard to truly understand the pain of infertility.”
