Stuff like this makes me want to yell.

Yell in a good way. Yell to kids in foster care that people see them and their beginning doesn't have to dictate their whole lives! To foster families that their work matters and they don't have to do it all alone! To the parents doing the hard work to heal and restore their families to not give up and to keep going! To every member of the system who is fighting the good fight against apathy, cold hearts, stressed carers, and lack of funds that we can help! Yell at the devil that he's a loser and be a general thorn in his side.

Thank you to a beautiful group of women in an online Bible study that spans from Montana to Arizona for these beautiful tie blankets. I know I could feel the love poured into them, and pray the kids who receive them will, too. There are even more blankets that didn't make the picture, I ran out of room to haul them! Thank you for partnering with us.

We're finally getting some rain in eastern Montana and western North Dakota! I have a gracious husband who understood the need to pull over and get a rainbow pictue.

Our bright red trailer is hard to miss, and we love it. We hope we can use it to deliver brand new items to kids in foster families all around our region. We want to promote dignity, confidence, self-worth, and hope in every kid our organization reaches.

Did anyone else love the show "Psych?" I'm sitting here wondering if I'm in over my head and all I could think was:

Gus: “We’re redefining the phrase ‘In over our heads.”

Shawn: “Over Our Heads: Great title for a movie about two short guys who pretend to be one tall guy to get a basketball scholarship.”

🤣🤣

But serving foster families is what we're here to do, and I imagine every foster parent has felt in over their heads at some point. We can all hang out together, it will be great.

Maycember hit like a freight train this year in all the best ways. I apologize for lack of content, but know that some amazing things have been happening, rural foster families are being supported, and most of the piles of to-dos are staying just under the point of overwhelm.

What if it was a child I knew?

It's not difficult to speed read over this command in the New Testament. It's in there a lot. Jesus told people to love God and love people and care for them like they love and care for themselves. Okay, cool, sounds great, can do.

But what does that look like in action? I'll leave you to your own meditation on that, but sometimes I ask myself, "What would I want for my child or a child I love if they ended up needing foster care?"

God forbid it ever be a need, but what if? Would I suddenly have an intense interest in making sure they had everything they needed? Would I want the family caring for them to struggle to get needed items quickly? Would overly worn hand-me-downs be the best I could do?

The church loves the mission field, and we should. I know people who have dedicated their lives to living in countries where the gospel is changing lives. I also see a whole community of people, of children, in our own Montana/North Dakota communities who need that life changing message delivered to them with actions as well as words.
