Tonight, the Love Like Justice Bridge in Glendive, Montana will shine yellow, purple, white, and blue in honor of Rachel Dawn Stanhope's 36th Birthday in Heaven.
We lost Rachel way too soon at the age of 35 after fighting a chronic autoimmune disease for most of her life. Rachel’s greatest passion, purpose, and joy came from rescuing animals in need. Rachel became known in the community and other rescues as someone who would do anything to help dogs in need. If she couldn’t physically be there to help, she would reach out and make it public that help was needed and was very successful in getting the job done. Rachel opened her home and heart to many rescues. She gave these dogs a great start in life and ensured they went to safe, loving homes. Rachel found joy in changing her appearance. She loved to dye her hair a variety of bright, bold colors. She loved the shock value and wore it with confidence. No matter what color she decided to wear, she always looked beautiful. Not only did she like bright colors for her hair, but she also loved her yellow Dodge pickup, which she affectionately named “Bumble Bee.”
This world has lost a unique, generous to a fault woman, who will forever be known as a great friend, loving sister, best friend, and compassionate loving person to strangers she had never met. Rachel has crossed the rainbow bridge and rejoined with her loving animals that are there to meet her along with her loving grandparents. She will be sorely missed and will forever be remembered.
A Memorial has been set up in Rachel’s name to raise Money for Rescued Animals. Rachel was a huge part of the rescue community, whether she was personally fostering dogs, donating to shelters and rescues and if she was not physically able to help, she was the bridge between animals in need and those who could help.
