Glendale Elementary PTA

Thank you so much Anna Negroni (VP), Kim Jeffries (Treasurer), and Paul Breidenbach (Secretary) for all of your support and patience this year. While there was more I would like to have done, I'm most proud of four things we accomplished together this year...
*We maintained our core support of students and staff at Glendale Elementary (Meet the Teacher, seasonal parties, popcorn Fridays, trunk or treat, international night, holiday shop, talent show, teacher appreciation week, May Fete, and more).
*We expanded our volunteer participation rather than leaning on the same exhausted volunteers.
*We participated in the nomination of Glendale Elementary as a Hall of Fame school and we won.
*We elected a new Board that is more representative of the student population and without 3 rounds of calls for nominations.

To that end, I'm grateful to Kim Jeffries for accepting the nomination for President, Deasia Worsham for accepting the nomination for VP, Sara Davis for accepting the nomination for Treasurer, and Brittany Lee for accepting the nomination for Secretary. All four were elected unanimously on Tuesday evening at our last PTA meeting of the year.

I'm super excited to see what you all will do next year and I'm excited to support you on that journey. I'm looking forward to finding some time this summer for transition activities and planning for next school year.

Mr. Josh keeps us looking great here at Glendale inside and outside. He makes sure that everything runs smoothly. The best part is he does it all with a smile!!

We are thrilled to announce that Ms. Gina, our beloved Food Service Cashier at Glendale, is back at school! 🎉❤️ After experiencing a medical emergency over the holiday break, she has returned, and the joy on our students' faces says it all! The number of hugs and smiles she received this week truly warmed our hearts!

A huge THANK YOU goes out to Glendale's amazing PTA for providing dinner for staff at the first round of conferences last night. The delicious pasta dinner was great and much appreciated! We would also like to extend a THANK YOU to each and every one of our parents who were able to attend their child's conference as well. Your involvement is vital to your child's educational journey. Together, as a team, we achieve so much more! Please share your favorite part of conferences in the comments.

📣 Exciting news! The Brock Foundation's "Tennis on the Run Academy" after-school programs are serving our Little Vikes with after-school programs at Glendale and Springdale! 🎾
Founded by Princeton alumnus and tennis star Tony Brock, our program honors the incredible legacy of his father, James "Jack" Brock, one of Glendale's first African American residents. In 1969, Coach Jack Brock made history by hosting tennis legend Arthur Ashe at Summit Park, creating an inclusive space for all players during a time of segregation.
Today, we're proud to continue this tradition of excellence:
🎾 4th year at Glendale Elementary
🎾 2nd year at Springdale Elementary
🎾 Over 2,000 students served in the past three years
🎾 No-cost programming for our participants
Thanks to community partners - The Glendale Lyceum, Mercy Hospitals Health plex, Queen City Racquet Club, and Springdale Recreation Center - The Brock Foundation is bringing tennis to youth who might never have stepped onto a court before!
The Brock Foundation remains committed to its mission: expanding tennis opportunities for all in the Greater Cincinnati Area, just as Coach Jack Brock envisioned. 🙌
