It’s a good thing we’re going to be vets and not comedians. They do say vitamin C gets degrees right???

Anywaysssss. Today some of our members went to Manistee Ranch Park and helped pick citrus from the trees! Thousands of pounds of fruit were picked today and will be used to help feed those in need!

Our February Pet of the month is Dr. Odin Wink!

He was adopted from Cool Cats Rescue during the beginning of quarantine. They estimated his age at about 6.5 years old at the time and was missing his left eye when he came into their care.

In June he was diagnosed with FIV, has hair loss, allergies but that doesn't stop him!! Even through all the trials he is one of the sweetest and bravest kitties you will ever meet. Odin has adapted to all the situations that were thrown at him. He loves to greet anyone he sees. He is also the first one in your lap for pets and loves to study with you (or remind you to take a break). He gets kitty crazies and will sprint all throughout the apartment, playing with his toys, screaming for company in the other room, and just chilling in his cat trees. He is a super good travel buddy be it in the car or on the plane

Horses have the largest eyes of any land mammal.

A horse's teeth take up a larger amount of space in their head than their brain

An adult horse’s brain weights 22 oz, about half that of a human. However, the average horse's heart weighs approximately 9 or 10 pounds

Most of the time, wherever a horse's ear is pointing is where the horse is looking with the eye on the same side. If the ears are pointing in different directions, the horse is looking at two different things at the same time.

December's Pet of the month is William aka “Daddy’s Promise!”

He is a 16 year old off track thoroughbred. Marissa Holfester adopted him this summer unexpectedly. He is a gentle giant and loves all the snacks. He can jump up to 3ft+ like a pro and always takes care of his rider. In his time off he likes to roll in all the mud puddles and pretend he is a rodeo horse in the pasture with his friends :)
