YWCA Glendale & Pasadena stands with our Armenian community in condemning the anti-Armenian flyers recently found near a Glendale elementary school. Hate has no place in our schools or communities. Every child and family deserves to feel safe, respected, and welcome.

We’re sharing this message from The Armenian American League Against Hate (TAAL) as a reminder that each of us has a role to play in standing against hate and building a community where everyone belongs.

If you or someone you know has been the victim of a hate incident or crime go to 211la.org or call 2-1-1 to report.

A note arrived last week from a woman who had just moved from Sunrise Village, our emergency shelter, into transitional housing.

“Your help made a positive difference, and I am grateful for your time and effort.”

We asked if we could share her note, and she said yes.

Every stay at Sunrise Village is made possible by donors. You can donate at the link in our bio.

Still feeling the glow from YWCA Glendale and Pasadena’s Centennial Gala.

What a night. Past honorees back in the room. New friends at the table. Stories that reminded us where we began. A scholarship recipient who showed us exactly why the future is worth investing in. And a community that made it clear: the next 100 years do not start someday. They start now.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, sponsored, volunteered, gave, shared a memory, brought a friend, or helped make the evening possible. This mission has always moved forward because people choose to show up for one another.

This AAPI Heritage Month, we honor Mabel Ping-Hua Lee, a trailblazing Chinese American suffragist who fought for women’s right to vote while still a teenager.

At just 16, she helped lead New York City’s 1912 suffrage parade on horseback. Yet because of exclusionary laws, she was barred from voting herself. Her story reminds us that the fight for women’s rights has never belonged to one community alone.

Mabel’s courage, leadership, and vision continue to inspire the work for equity and justice today.

Connie Chung Joe has long stood with survivors and communities through fierce advocacy, principled leadership, and a deep commitment to justice.

A 2022 Women for Racial Justice Honoree, Connie’s work reflects the power of standing with those most impacted and building a more just future with courage and care.

As YWCA Glendale and Pasadena celebrates 100 years of impact, we are honored to recognize past honorees like Connie whose leadership continues to strengthen the movement for safety, dignity, and racial justice.
