¡Adelante, Latinos! and the are so proud to have been presented a proclamation from proclaiming the September 15 - October 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month!!

Proclamation
WHEREAS, Hispanic Heritage Month is observed nationwide from September 15 to October 15 each year to celebrate the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and numerous contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities in the United States; and
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale proudly recognizes the Hispanic and Latino community as an integral part of our city's diversity, contributing to Glendale's history, economy, and cultural vibrancy, and enriching our neighborhoods with a strong commitment to family, education, and civic engagement; and
WHEREAS, Hispanic and Latino Americans have made significant and lasting contributions in every aspect of our city's life, from business and public service to arts, education, and science, while continuing to advocate for civil rights, social justice, and equality for all; and
WHEREAS, Glendale is strengthened by the rich cultural traditions, languages, and histories of Hispanic and Latino residents, whose dedication and hard work foster inclusivity, economic growth, and a sense of community pride; and
WHEREAS, Hispanic Heritage Month provides an opportunity to honor and recognize the profound impact of Hispanic and Latino Americans in shaping Glendale's progress, while also promoting understanding, unity, and appreciation of their cultural contributions; and
WHEREAS, it is essential that we continue to support and uplift the Hispanic and Latino communities by preserving their heritage, promoting educational and economic opportunities, and ensuring their voices are heard in shaping the future of our city;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mayor Elen Asatryan, on behalf of the City Council and the City of Glendale, do hereby proclaim September 15 to October 15, 2024, as
National Hispanic Heritage Month 2024
in the City of Glendale, and encourage all residents to join in recognizing and celebrating the invaluable contributions and rich heritage of our Hispanic and Latino communities, not only during this month but throughout the year.
