⭐Planning Committee Spotlight: Dr. Christine Morgan⭐

Christine Morgan, EdD, CHES is an assistant professor and Residency Education Manager for AT Still University-School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona.

Christine received her masters degree in adult education from Michigan State University and her doctorate in education, with a focus on healthcare education, from Nova Southeastern University. She is also credentialed as a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).

Christine joined ATSU-SOMA faculty in July 2013 to develop and implement an online didactic curriculum for their unique distributed family medicine residency program based in four different Community Health Centers (CHC's) across the country. In her role as Residency Education Manager, she provides leadership, management and support for the educational development, delivery and continuous quality improvement of the undergraduate medical education to graduate medical education continuum. Her scholarly interests include exploring graduate outcomes, with a focus on those that seek employment in a CHC, developing tools to assess competency and enhancing students and residents teaching and learning skills.

We are grateful to have her expertise on the Planning Committee!

🌟Planning Committee Spotlight: Dr. María Aguilar-Amaya🌟

Dr. María Aguilar-Amaya is Director of the Office of Evaluation and Partner Contracts at SIRC at Arizona State University and lead faculty for the Criminal Sentencing and Sentencing Advocacy Program in the SSW. She is a bilingual and bicultural researcher and hold dual citizenship in Mexico and the USA; her ancestral roots are Apache from Chihuahua, Mexico and Tarasco from Michoacán, Mexico. Her research focuses on health equity using community-based participatory research with marginalized and underserved populations. Her portfolio includes substance abuse, recidivism, reentry, and homelessness. Dr. Aguilar-Amaya served 23 years in the Arizona Judiciary prior to her position with ASU. She possesses a Doctorate in Management and Organizational Leadership, an MA in Organizational Management, and a BS in Administration of Justice. She is a trained Real Colors and Motivational Interviewing facilitator. She served as President for the Arizona Evaluation Network, as a Director at Large for the Arizona Courts Association, and was a member of the Arizona Governor's Office Substance Abuse Epidemiology Work Group.

We're grateful to have her helping shape the 13th Annual Arizona Health Equity Conference.
