We are proud to announce Governor Gavin Newsom just signed into law AB 1320. This bill is rooted from AYF’s initiative to connect and provide resources to university students and activists with information on how their tuition dollars support the Republic of Turkey’s government, and how to take steps towards divestment until reparations for the Armenian Genocide are met; until genocide is no longer a profitable venture. After continuous proactive research and activism, working alongside the All-ASA: All-Armenian Student Association throughout California’s public universities and the ANCA Western Region, not only has this initiative come to fruition with ten successful divestment resolutions throughout the UC system, but it just signed into California state law. This is a proud day and a prime example of how unity is our strength. Our work has only just begun...

This publication is the product of a collaboration between the Armenian Youth Federation Western Region and the Armenian Youth Federation of Canada (AYF Canada).
