The Four Way Test
Is it the TRUTH? Will it build GOODWILL and better FRIENDSHIPS? Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned? Why is being a part of Rotary so valuable? When we invite someone to join Rotary, we are asking them to donate quite a bit of time and money. A member should expect something in return for a donation of time and money. We offer the following to our Rotarians:
A sincere greet
ing at every meeting
A willing audience -- we love sharing personal and professional news when we do Happy Dollars
Mentoring -- There is Rotary Alphabet Soup and we make sure that each new member to our club has a mentor to guide them along the way. And, for our more tenured Rotarians, mentoring is a way to help newer members find their way and passion in Rotary. Meaningful work in service delivery -- Rotary allows you to experience the joy of service at the local and international levels, whichever is of interest to you. Leadership opportunities -- Leadership is a core value of Rotary and you have the platform at the club level and higher to develop and practice your leadership skills while meeting a lot of great people. Business development -- By having another venue for meeting people and developing relationships, you will create the opportunity to grow your business network and your business. The motto of Rotary is “SERVICE ABOVE SELF”. The objective of Rotary as stated in the Constitution is to “encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise. The statement then lists four areas that foster the ideal:
1. Through the development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service.
2. The promotion of high ethical standards in business and community life.
3. Through service in one’s personal, business, and community life.
4. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace. Want to learn more about the happenings of the Denver Cherry Creek Rotary Club?
