Hit & Run Fatal Traffic Collision

On December 23rd, 2025, at approximately 5:40 a.m., a fatal hit-and-run collision occurred at the intersection of Ventura Blvd and Van Noord Ave. A white colored cargo van was traveling eastbound on Ventura Blvd when it ran over a pedestrian’s foot while he was sitting on the roadway. The cargo van continued eastbound Ventura Blvd without stopping. moments later, the pedestrian laid down on the roadway when two additional vehicles ran over him. All three vehicles also continued eastbound Ventura Blvd without stopping or rendering aid. The second vehicle is described as a white colored sedan and the third vehicle is described as white colored SUV.
Valley Traffic Detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the suspects and vehicles responsible for this fatal hit and run collision.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Valley Traffic Division, Detective Martinez, Serial No. 34876, at 818-644-8033 or Officer Hansen, Serial No. 38995 at 818-644-8255. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should contact the LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477) or go directly to www.lacrimestoppers.org. Tipsters may also visit www.lapdonline.org and click on “Anonymous Web Tips” under the “Get Involved-Crime Stoppers” menu to submit an online tip. Lastly, tipsters may also download the “P3 Tips” mobile application and select the LA Regional Crime Stoppers as their local program. Independent of any City or other reward offers, anonymous tipsters using the LA Crime Stoppers program may be eligible for up-to a $1,000 cash reward based on arrest only (no conviction required).

COLD CASE: Summary - On May 13, 2023, at approximately 9:30 pm, Mr. Blanton, Jr. (pictured above) was struck while crossing Florence Avenue near Van Ness Avenue. The driver of the vehicle failed to render aid or comply with the law and fled the scene eastbound Florence Avenue. Paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department transported Mr. Blanton, Jr. to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center but he succumbed to his injuries. Make an anonymous tip on our website. Link in bio.
