ANCA Strategic Advocacy 2026: Armenian Americans from more than 30 states are coming to Washington. Join them!

The ANCA Eastern Region, Western Region, and National Headquarters will host Strategic Advocacy 2026 in Washington, DC on September 14-15, 2026 — mobilizing Armenian American advocates to Capitol Hill exactly 50 days before the November 3rd midterm elections.

The two-day fly-in centers on two themes: Electoral Impact and Policy Progress. Congressional and coalition meetings will press for concrete pre-election action on the right of return for Artsakh's forcibly displaced Armenians, the immediate release of Armenian hostages and prisoners of war held in Baku, full enforcement of Section 907 of the FREEDOM Support Act, and an end to U.S. military assistance to the Aliyev regime.

The program culminates in a Capitol Hill rally — Accountability | 2026: Artsakh — Justice. Freedom. Right of Return — on September 15th at 5:30 PM, gathering Members of Congress, Armenian American organizations, human rights advocates, and the next generation of community leaders.

"Fifty days out from this year's hotly contested midterm election is close enough to get their attention, far enough away for them to get things done," said ANCA Executive Director Aram Hamparian. "We are positioned — like never before — to play a decisive role in an array of close elections."

The ANCA is recruiting first-time advocates, returning advocates, community leaders, clergy, professionals, elected officials, and university students. Need-based travel grants are available for college and graduate students.

The deadline to register interest is August 16, 2026.

ANCA-WR’s Jibid Melkonian was invited to address the student body of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts during their inaugural Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day Event.

What followed was an inspiring discussion on the effects of 111 years of denial and the reinvigoration of the Armenian Nation post-Genocide.
