🚨 Don’t Miss This Week’s Glendale Rotary Club Meeting! 🚨

Join us this Thursday, June 18th, at Noon at the elegant for a special presentation with historian Michael Eberts as he takes us on a journey through the history of Glendale College. đź“šđź’™

Michael Eberts is a Los Angeles native who taught at Glendale College from 1987 to 2024. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Cal State LA and his Ph.D. from USC. He now serves as the Glendale College historian and is helping prepare for the college’s centennial celebration in 2027.

At this week’s meeting, Michael will bring Glendale College’s remarkable story to life — from its humble beginnings sharing a high school campus, to classes being held in tents after an earthquake, to the student-led bond campaign that helped make today’s Verdugo Campus possible.

This will be a wonderful opportunity to step into Glendale’s past and learn more about the history, resilience, and community spirit behind one of our city’s most important institutions. Bring a guest and join us for what promises to be an engaging and memorable meeting!

The Rotary Club of Glendale is grateful to everyone who came out to support this special event and help us continue raising funds for at-risk youth programs in our community.

From the families, car owners, volunteers, Rotarians, community members, and local leaders who showed up, to our generous sponsors who made this event possible — thank you. Your support is what allows this event to continue growing year after year.

A special thank you to the Glendale Police Department and Glendale Fire Department for your continued partnership, dedication, and commitment to serving our community. We are proud to stand alongside you in support of programs that make a real difference for our youth.

Since its beginning, Cars for Cops & Kids has now helped raise close to $500,000 for local at-risk youth programs, and we could not have done it without this amazing community.

And next year is a big one… the 10th Annual Cars for Cops & Kids Car Show! We’re already looking forward to making it extra special. Stay tuned — we can’t wait to see everyone back again next year.

🚨 What a great day at Glendale Rotary! 🚨

A big thank you to our guest speakers from the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center for joining us and sharing so much incredible information, energy, and enthusiasm with our club. We are excited to learn more about the transformation the center is preparing for as we look ahead to the 2028 Olympics — and we look forward to future collaboration opportunities. 🏊‍♂️💙

We also had the chance to celebrate a very special moment: Dr. Richard Swanberg’s birthday! Happy birthday once again to Dr. Swanberg — a longtime Rotarian, respected community leader, and wonderful friend to our club. 🎉

And we were excited to have the Scouting America team in the house today! Big shout-out to them — and we can’t wait to see them again this Sunday at our Cars for Cops & Kids event. 🚗🇺🇸

After the meeting, the team headed over to the park for final preparations for the big event this Sunday — and trust us, you don’t want to miss it!

Last week at Rotary, we had the opportunity to reflect on the importance of service, leadership, and the people who help keep our community strong.

That message carried beautifully into today’s Police Foundation Luncheon, where we were reminded of the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of the men and women who serve and protect our city.

A special highlight was seeing one of our very own Rotarians, Sgt. Teal Metts, recognized and connected to this important work. Teal represents the heart of Rotary’s motto, Service Above Self, both through his commitment to public safety and his involvement in our community.

We are grateful for our police department, our community partners, and Rotarians like Teal who continue to lead with service, integrity, and purpose.

Melanie brings more than a decade of professional experience in financial leadership, strategic planning, and operations. In her role at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center, she leads key initiatives across finance, HR, administration, and long-term organizational strategy.

At this week’s meeting, Melanie will share more about the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center, its impact on the community, and its connection to the upcoming 2028 LA Olympics.

This event was created to bring together business owners, residents, professionals, and community leaders who believe in building meaningful relationships and strengthening our community — and you all helped make that vision come to life.

A special thank you to Lieutenant Joshua Wofford of the Glendale Police Department for sharing valuable insight on Artificial Intelligence in Action and how AI is being used in real-world environments like law enforcement. We also want to thank the Glendale Police Department for being an exceptional community partner, and for all your support and dedication to bringing the community together.

Glendale Rotarians are truly People of Action! đź’™ Through the generosity of our members, we raised funds to purchase urgently needed emergency items for survivors of human trafficking, supporting CAST LA and Saving Innocence. Together, we assembled 32 emergency backpacks.

Our members came together to help put these backpacks together for these two incredible organizations. Proud to stand alongside fellow members of the Glendale Rotary Club and make a meaningful impact in our community!

🚨 Don’t Miss This Week’s Glendale Rotary Club Meeting! 🚨

Join us this Thursday, May 21st, at Noon at as we welcome one of our newest members, Judy Steinfeld, for a meaningful and inspiring presentation. đź’™

Judy has spent her life helping people—as a licensed psychotherapist with more than 40 years of clinical experience, a real estate investor and developer, and an active community volunteer.

She will also share insights from her upcoming book, Who’s Driving Your Bus?, a teaching memoir that uses the metaphor of a bus to help people recognize the inner patterns and voices that may no longer serve them.

This will be a wonderful opportunity to get to know Judy better and hear from a fellow Rotarian whose work has touched lives across Los Angeles, New York, and Santiago, Chile.
