“Merciful Lord God, Your promises are faithful and true. You have promised that to anyone who is thirsty, You will give the fountain of the water of life freely. O Lord, we thirst. Our sin has left us parched and empty, and we have sought satisfaction in things that cannot satisfy. Our desire is for the pardon and grace found in Jesus Christ. You alone are the fountain of living water. You alone forgive our sin, satisfy our souls, and give us eternal life. By Your Word and Spirit, make us willing to come to Christ, give us faith to receive Your promise, and teach us to worship You in spirit and in truth. Having received such mercy, make us faithful to point those who are thirsty and far from You to Christ, the fountain of life. For we must drink, or else we die. Satisfy us with Christ, our Savior and Mediator. Amen.”
