We’re grateful to be recognized as a Glendale Hometown Treasure!

At the 3rd annual Glendale Ambassadors Hometown Treasures event, Yucca District - Glendale, AZ Councilmember Dianna T. Guzman honored the GESD SoCC for our work supporting Glendale children and families. GESD Governing Board members and district leadership joined us to celebrate.

It was a joy to celebrate alongside fellow honorees, including the Kiwanis Club of Glendale, Az and several other wonderful recipients.

Thank you to the Glendale Ambassadors for bringing our community together, Glendale hometown anchor and reporter Jamie Cerreta for serving as emcee, and the Apollo High School Key Club for volunteering to serve dinner.

This recognition belongs to the partners, volunteers, and families who make the SoCC a place of connection and care.

Did you know? More than 7 million Americans age 65 and older are living with Alzheimer’s dementia. There are resources right here in Glendale to help those in our community living with and caring for loved ones with dementia.

City of Glendale’s 5th Annual Dementia Friendly Glendale Awareness Day is Saturday, Oct. 3.

Join this free community resource fair focused on raising awareness about dementia, reducing stigma, supporting caregivers and families, and sharing strategies for maintaining brain health.
