Meet Unger Armen Demirjian!

“Hi Ungerner! I’m Armen from San Francisco, California, a second-year medical student and proud member of the AYF San Francisco “Rosdom” Chapter. I have attended and worked as a counselor at Armenian youth camps since I was 8 years old, and I can’t wait to help create that same welcoming and unforgettable environment in Armenia.

Growing up in the Armenian community taught me the importance of staying connected to our heritage, supporting one another, and giving back to our homeland, and Youth Corps is an incredible opportunity to do all three. Whether it’s through playing soccer, leading educationals, organizing Red, Blue, Orange games, or simply spending time with campers, I’m excited to strengthen the bond between Armenia and the Diaspora and build lifelong friendships and memories along the way.”

“Hi! My name is Ani Artounians, and I’m from Glendale, California. I just graduated from UCLA with a degree in English and a minor in Armenian Studies. I am a member of the AYF Hollywood “Musa Ler” Chapter and have been involved in AYF Camp and Armenian Youth Camp for about 12 years.

Meet Ungerouhi Sose Hovannisian!

“Parev Ungerner, I’m Sose Hovannisian and I’m from Los Angeles, CA. Originally part of the West Valley “Sardarabad” Chapter, I am currently a member of the AYF-East Philadelphia “Sebouh” Chapter and a recent graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. I’ve been involved with the AYF from a very young age and am grateful for the way it has shaped my devotion to our homeland. I am deeply involved and active within Armenian communities on both the West and East Coasts and spend a lot of my time contributing to outlets like the Daily Pennsylvanian, Asbarez, the Armenian Weekly, and AYF’s own Haytoug with articles relevant to our struggle. Having grown up spending every summer at AYF Camp, AYC, or Camp Haiastan, I cannot wait to experience camp anew through the Youth Corps program and spend time in Armenia in a meaningful way. Meet Ungerouhi Alique Andonian!

“Hi everyone! My name is Alique Andonian, and I’m from San Francisco. I’ve been part of the SF Rosdom chapter since I was a junior, and I recently graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Animal Science. I’ve been involved with AYF Camp and AYC for the past 15 years as both a camper and counselor, where I’ve made some of my favorite memories and closest friendships. All of my siblings and friends have participated in Youth Corps and returned with incredible stories and lifelong connections, which has made me so excited to experience it for myself. I’m especially excited to work with the kids, get to know them, and create unforgettable memories together.”
