Calling young playwrights for SYT's PLAYFEST COMPETITION! 🎭✨

Spotlight Youth Theatre's Playfest Competition gives 3 young playwrights ages 13-24 the chance to see their play on the SYT stage! Submit your original play by September 6th for the chance to win $100, and see your play performed as part of SYT's 2026-2027 season!

We're now accepting submissions for PLAYFEST 2027, Spotlight Youth Theatre's playwrighting competition! ✏✨

Spotlight Youth Theatre’s annual PLAYFEST invites young playwrights ages 13–24 to write an original short play for performers ages 8–19. The ultimate goal is to see your work fully produced on the Spotlight Youth Theatre stage!

Spotlight Youth Theatre's 2025-2026 productions received 44 nominations across 19 categories, including Best Overall Production of a Play and Best Overall Production of a Musical!

Congrats to all the nominees, and thanks to everyone who made SYT's 2025-2026 season possible!
