WESD Gifted Education The Washington Elementary School District (WESD) Gifted Services department provides gifted services to students and families in each WESD school.

The Washington Elementary School District (WESD) Gifted Services department is committed to providing gifted services to school-age students in the Washington Elementary School District, as required by ARS 15-779.01, 15-779.02, 15.779.03 and 15.779.04. This is accomplished by ensuring the students are appropriately identified; providing appropriate service in the area of qualification; including d

ifferentiation in content, process, product and environment; supporting student learning commensurate with ability; and aligning with the District's vision, mission, and values. The WESD Gifted Services department is responsible for contributing leadership and support to gifted programs District-wide by providing training, resources and information to teachers of gifted, principals and parents.

Week 2 of summer school completed! Some myths we tackled: A tablecloth can be pulled off a set table without disturbing the plates or food. It is impossible to walk in a straight line blindfolded. Most people cannot identify the back of their own hand. Toast always falls butter side down. It is possible to hang onto a wall indefinitely.

Week 1 of Gifted Summer School. We explored many myths and busted a few! Some myths we tackled: It is impossible to drink from a 3 ft. straw. A piece of paper cannot be folded more than 7 times. Poprocks and soda will make your stomach explode. It is impossible to eat 6 saltine crackers in 1 minute. A bag of water can be punctured with a stick and not leak.
