Friends of the Glencoe Golf Club is thrilled by the successful result of the April 4th referendum. The strong voter approval shows that the community-oriented vision for the Club at Glencoe project resonates with Glencoe residents, golfers and nongolfers alike. Friends looks forward to continuing its work to help ensure that this vision is successfully implemented.

The Glencoe Golf Club is proud to announce that Bill Sakas, has received the Deacon Palmer Award from the Illinois PGA. The prestigious PGA Deacon Palmer Award bestows special recognition to a PGA Professional who displays outstanding integrity, character and leadership in an effort to overcome a major obstacle in their life.

Bill has been the lead instructor for the Glencoe Golf Club Golf Academy for ten years and this award is well-deserved recognition of his efforts. ‘Out of pure love for the game, Bill finds it hard to turn his students away and spends as much time with them as they wish. Sakas’ love for teaching and dedication to the growth of the game is evident in all he does.’

Thank you, Bill, for sharing your enthusiasm, dedication, and expertise in golf instruction to your students at the Glencoe Golf Club. You’ve truly made the game of golf better for hundreds of people, we are proud to have you on our team.
