We can assist with almost anything a Veteran needs help with from taking to and from medical appointments, yard work, minor house repairs, and providing wood during the winter months. The Veteran Outreach Program (VOP) is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that assists Veterans, and Widows/Widowers of Veterans at no cost to them. Due to the nature of our organization as a non-profit we wil
l verify the status of all those we are assisting to ensure those we are helping meet the criteria in order for us to help them. In the event those we are helping are Widows or Widowers we will have to verify off of the death certificate of the Veteran. Cully Parr started the VOP August 1, 2020, after recognizing a desperate need for local services which directly impact and improve the overall quality of life through mental and social stability for those within our communities. We are currently registered and providing our assistance in the following counties: Baxter, Fulton, Independence, Marion, Sharp, and Izard Counties. VOP provides a range of services including but not limited to; yard work, trimming trees, cutting down trees in emergency situations, providing firewood when available, minor home repairs, repairing minor plumbing issues, rides to and from medical appointments (when available), plowing snow during the winter months if needed, and assistance locating other agencies for support. Unfortunately, our ability to assist is limited. Currently, we are assisting over 145 Veterans, and Widows or Widowers of Veterans. We desperately need more able-bodied volunteers who can give their time to assist. Whether an hour or a day, we need you! You tell us what you can do, when you are available, and we will work you in. Absolutely no pressure, please message or call Cully Parr (870)919-7352. Donations are always appreciated and needed in order for this organization to be successful. Donations go toward upkeep and maintenance of equipment being used to help those we are assisting as well as assist those who desperately need repairs they simply cannot afford. Whether those we are helping donate or not we will provide our assistance. Funds are limited, and we do not want to be in a position in which we have to decline our assistance. Any amount will help and is greatly appreciated. Just message, email, or call, and we will let you know how you can donate. If you wish to send a donation by, check please ensure it is filled out to the Veteran Outreach Program, and it can be sent to the following address: Veteran Outreach Program, 7115 HWY 62, Glencoe, AR 72539.
