The 92nd State FFA Convention has come to a close and our chapter had a very successful week! Below are the results:

Milk Quality & Products CDE:
Hannah Hagen: Gold and 17th place overall out of 127 participants!
Garrett Hansen: Silver and 48th place overall out of 127 participants!
Riley Peters: Bronze and 75th place overall out of 127 participants!
Our Milk Quality Team placed silver and 11th place out of 37 teams!

Advanced Ag Mech:
Garrett Hansen was a participant and was just shy of making it in the placings!

Intermediate Ag Mech:
Cash Rudland: Bronze and 29th out of 39 participants!

These students have worked hard to earn these awards and I could not be more proud of them this past semester! What a great way to end this year! 💙💛💙

Today in Exploring Ag 2, 8th graders presented their research on the Meat Evaluation Contest and they got to judge three cuts of steak. After we placed the steaks, we discussed which one we thought was the best and why. We ended the class by cooking up the steaks and trying them out ourselves. Thank you to the Matehs family for supporting our program and donating the steaks for class today. The kids had a blast!

Students in Ag 3 & Ag 4 got asked to make stairs for prom. This was a learning experience for everyone, but the kids were up for the challenge. They worked hard during class to get the stairs finished for prom tomorrow. I’m so proud of these students and their willingness to help out!

Today we competed at the State Winter CDE contest in Minot.

Agronomy:
Hannah Hagen placed bronze and 105 out of 186 contestants.
Garrett Hansen placed 154 out of 186 contestants.

Livestock:
Cash Rudland placed 139 out of 186 contestants

I am so grateful to be these students advisor and proud of them for doing their best all Winter CDE season. It’s not always about winning, it’s about giving students an opportunity to participate in FFA and learn more about agriculture. I am so lucky to call these students my FFA kids!

Today Garrett Hansen and Hannah Hagen competed in the agronomy contest in Rugby and placed in the bronze category. I could not be more proud of these two at their first contest, and can’t wait to watch them continue to grow as officers and in this contest!
