Innitou Ski Runners Ski & Social Club - the authorized page of the Innitous Recreational skiing and so much more...hiking, river runs, & golf in the summer and fall festivities Come on up and check it out!

We're an adults only (21+) not-for-profit ski club with a house in Glen, NH (right across from the infamous Red Parka Pub) situated along the Ellis River. Our members ski, snowboard, and snowshoe in the winter, kayak, golf and hike in the summer...and much much more! We're conveniently located just 5 minutes from Attitash Resort with many other ski areas a short drive away. When we're done being a

ctive, we also enjoy just hanging out and having fun whether it be kicking back and enjoying a frosty beverage at the house or heading out to one of the local pubs or private member-only parties we get to enjoy as members of a larger organization of ski clubs. We've made a lot of renovations to our house in the past few years.

Frank and Lu McDonough Conway recently entrusted me with a beautiful piece of our history: a collection of recipe cards curated by Eleanor "Moe" Morrow.
These aren't just Moe’s own recipes—she carefully captured the favorite dishes of many Innitou members over the years. Looking through them is a true trip down memory lane, as some of these recipes remind me of some of the comfort food my family would prepare many years ago!
Many are in Moe’s original handwriting, while others are typed out.
Many, if not all of these meals were traditionally prepared in our kitchen for friends and family. 🎿
I’m honored to pass these along to you all. Enjoy photos of these handwritten gems - I’m hoping to keep these traditions cooking!
For folks that were Innitou’s or friends of Innitou’s back in the day, which classic Innitou recipes do you hope to see shared here and what are some of your favorite memories around these dishes?
For everyone, which ones do you think you will make?

Letter From the GM – Closed

Black Mountain has been a complicated deal from day one. What I had hoped could be a quick single deal ended up being a whole bunch more.

Almost exactly one year ago, we purchased the business and its assets, leaving the underlying real estate to be transacted separately at some point in the future. Furthermore, the separate ownership of the communication towers remained a significant barrier to the mountain’s long-term success.

I am happy to share that the Black Mountain Community Corporation has now “closed” on all three parcels of land, fully completing the real estate purchase process. Additionally, we were also able to acquire the cell tower rights and leases, granting us critical control over the summit of the ski area. Both deals came down to the wire, and I want to thank John Fichera for working with us to get it over the line. John has spent the last 30 years keeping Black Mountain independent and will now be able to fully step back and enjoy some form of retirement. I am grateful for the relationship we developed over the past two years, and I am extremely proud that we found a way to work together and keep Black Mountain open.

Both transactions required a significant amount of capital beyond what Indy Pass and Entabeni had already invested into the project over this past season, especially the cell tower purchase. A handful of key supporters stepped in to share in this additional funding alongside us, and through that process, they joined Entabeni and Indy Pass in becoming the first shareholders of the Black Mountain Community Corporation.

Black Mountain will be managed by a board of trustees, and the first trustees have been appointed by founding shareholders who made significant time and financial commitments to keeping Black Mountain open and independent. Because of the Securities and Exchange Commission regulations, all initial shareholders must meet the definition of an accredited investor and have participated under the Regulation D exemption. Please e-mail us directly if you are interested in being involved at this level, and we can set up a time to speak and visit the mountain before we enter a required pause and our next steps.

We continue to move forward with our SEC Regulation A filing. This exemption will allow us to offer shares to the general public with certain limitations, ensuring that the community can have a part and say in the ownership and direction of the mountain. My goal has always been to establish a model that balances this community ownership with effective and decisive management, ensuring that Black Mountain remains not only open but in fact leads by example with what the sport and culture of skiing can and should be.

Last fall, our team had just 68 days to transform the mountain before opening day. If you thought you saw a ton of improvement to the mountain then, all I can say is hold on now. We have been charging forward non-stop since our closing day on May 3rd, and the progress across our lifts, snowmaking, buildings, and (new) trails is remarkable. Stand by for non stop updates as we quickly approach what we hope will be our earliest opening day ever. A limited number of season passes and seasonal learning programs remain on sale at this time.

While it is easy to get excited about the on hill improvements and the start of the season, I cannot stress enough how monumental it is to have completed these purchases and move forward with our first group of shareholders.

The transactions are closed, and the mountain will open.

Thanks for being here.

Letter From the GM – Peaks and Valleys

Dear Black Mountain Family,

We were on top. A remarkable season on all counts. Coming to the end of a perfect spring weekend that included a beautiful Easter service in the sun at the Alpine Cabin, Black Mountain was shining in every way.

I had taken my boots off for the day and was just sitting down for dinner when the radio call no one ever wants to get at a ski area came in. “Injured skier, appears to be unconscious and not breathing”.

I have never been a GM of a mountain. I have enjoyed the ups and downs of this ski season, and the bigger purpose of what the success of Black Mountain has ended up meaning to so many people near and far. The mountain, the staff, and our customers were really beginning to hone in on our mission of this place being more than a place to ski, but instead a place to gather. Powder turns and Parties. Champagne and Celebrations. All in all, an inspiring comeback story for a mountain, its community, and a much-needed example for an industry that is focused on profit over people. We were on top.

Death in skiing is not something we like to talk about. We all know that people die every day, but when it happens while skiing it feels especially unfair. The PR playbooks say that publicly, we should offer condolences, few other details, and move on to new messaging as soon as possible. How in the world do we turn back to messaging about parties and Champagne?

On Monday, I got to meet Eric’s father and stepmother when they came to pick up Eric’s car from the parking lot. The next day the three of us rode the double to the summit and visited the site where the accident took place. As difficult and tragic as the last 72 hours were for them, the compassion, strength, and positivity that these two humans displayed was astonishing. Our conversations focused almost entirely on how much Eric treasured the sport and culture of skiing. Even deep in the valley, they kept talking about Eric’s time at the peak.

Just like Eric’s family, we have to learn, grow, and grieve in the valley. But never should we stop climbing to the top of every mountain at every opportunity. The Black Mountain Family has been charging hard all season and overcoming challenges daily. This is a big one.

We are going to keep going. We will be open this weekend. Spinning lifts from 10 am to 7 pm. Then, on Saturday, May 3rd, we will have the biggest celebration this place has ever seen for its 90th birthday. We will ski, party, and celebrate the comeback that Black Mountain has become. We will have a new perspective as to how important the culture of skiing is to so many people. Especially Eric and his family.

Thanks for being here. Never forget how lucky we all are to be here.
