Garden Club of Baker County This is a garden club for the education, recreation and socialization of like-minded Baker County and surrounding area residents. Mary Nursery.

We meet on the Second Wednesday of months September through May at 10:00 AM, usually at the Mathis House located at the Glen St. Meetings include educational and entertaining subjects that include gardening, plant swaps, as well as great socialization. Meetings are followed by covered dishes prepared by some of Baker County's best cooks! Each year, the group plans an overnight trip to visit arbore

tums, specialty gardens, university gardens and nurseries located in the southeastern US. Many years, we also schedule a day trip to enjoy horticultural highlights within a 50-mile radius of Macclenny. We also arrange and donate flowers each Christmas for Baker County's Meals on Wheels clients.

Our monthly meeting will be this Thursday at 10:00 AM. We have a great agenda this month. Connie Gladding, a Master Gardener, and member of the American Daylily Society Senior Exhibition & Garden Judge & Instructor will be doing a presentation on Daylilies as well as selling some must have lilies you won't find in any stores! Bring your favorite dish to share and a friend. Meeting will be at the Mathis House Located at The Glen St. Mary Nurseries. Directions to The Mathis House from east: Highway 90 West or
I-10 west to Glen St. Mary, turn left (south) on CR-125, go under I-10. Take second dirt road to right just before the bridge.
The Mathis House is the first building on the left with parking on the right side of the house.

It's time to begin a new year in Garden Club. Our first meeting will be this Thursday, September 11, at 10:00 AM at the Mathis House located on the Glen St. Mary Nurseries. We have an exciting year planned, so mark your calendars for this week. Visitors are always welcome!

Also, The Baker County Fair will be October 21 through 26. Entries for the Horticultural Exhibit will be taken in on Saturday, October 18, from 9 AM to 3 PM. Plant pickup after the fair will be Monday, October 27 from 1 PM to 7 PM. For more info, click on this link:
