The Shade Tree Commission is Updating Our Street Tree Inventory!
Over the coming weeks, the RichView Consulting team will be conducting an updated inventory of trees located along our streets and public rights-of-way.
Why is this important?
A current street tree inventory helps the Borough better manage and protect our community forest by:
• Identifying tree species and overall tree health
• Monitoring for hazardous or declining trees
• Planning future tree planting and maintenance
• Improving storm resilience and environmental sustainability
• Expanding shade coverage and reducing urban heat
• Supporting grant opportunities and long-term budgeting
Street trees are more than just part of our landscape. They improve air quality, reduce flooding, increase property values, provide wildlife habitat, and make our neighborhoods healthier and more beautiful places to live.
Residents may notice crews collecting information such as tree size, species, condition, and location. This work is part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy, and thriving urban forest for generations to come.
