25 Years. A quarter of a century.

Still thinking of and praying for families touched by the tragedy of September 11th, 2001. For those with empty seats at family tables, for those who grapple with survivor guilt, for all who struggle to just get through this day, for those whose families have been touched by the long reach of post-9/11 illnesses, may you find comfort in the smile of a child, a touch from a friend, an old memory and the knowledge that they are never forgotten and their legacy lives on.

It was an honor and a privilege for our unit to be invited to volunteer at Assemblyman Ed Ra’s Veterans Picnic for the 2nd year in a row.
PFC Garone, PFC Kmiotek, PVT Millan and PFC Toffolo proudly assisted at this beautiful event and luncheon that is held to show gratitude for local Veterans.

On Saturday June 20th, the Long Island Young Marines held drill at a beautiful park in Nassau County, NY. We decided to enjoy the last drill outdoors before some of our Young Marines go away for the summer. We had the privilege of having Chief Warrant Officer 3 Jessi Quijijie & West Point Cadet Aaron Quijijie visit and speak with our unit. It was a true honor to meet both of them and we wish them good luck & safety in their future!
We held a PFT in the morning and after chow we held a team-building & unit strengthening water gun battle, followed by a fierce (and fun!) game of football & kickball. We also sadly said goodbye to our Training Officer, Mr. Rivera, who is moving out of state with his family. They will be greatly missed!

It certainly was a busy drill!

Our apologies for missing yesterday's post (it's been a week, and I dropped the proverbial ball!)

May everyone have had a meaningful Juneteenth; we celebrate those who have made this day possible.
