🥉 Junior Pair – 3rd Place!
2026 Midwestern Sectional Championships & Qualifier for the 2026 U.S. Figure Skating Nationals

Huge congratulations to Nickolai Apter of Great Lakes FSC and his partner Baylen Taich of DuPage FSC on their outstanding 3rd-place finish!

Both skaters delivered a strong, polished performance — and we’re especially proud to see our Great Lakes FSC athlete, Nickolai, earn his spot on the road to the 2026 U.S. Nationals

Huge shoutout to Great Lakes FSC member Polina Madalli for delivering her best performances of the season and earning 5th place at the 2026 Midwestern Sectionals. Polina skated a clean Short Program and a clean Free Skate — achieving a personal best score of 116.68. Amazing work, Polina — we’re so proud of you. Keep it up.

Huge shoutout to Polina this weekend!
She delivered a confident short program and followed it with an absolutely incredible free skate — attempting four triple jumps and landing every single one.

Her program is significantly more difficult this year, and while not everything was perfect, she earned her personal best score and took home the silver medal. A well-deserved podium finish and a major step forward. 🥈

Congratulations to the high school skaters of the Great Lakes Figure Skating Team! A total of 18 skaters competing at 3 different team levels have finished the High School Competitive season with a First, Second and Third place overall finish at the Midwest Sectionals Championship! In addition, each team completed their regular season with a podium finish. Our Low Team placed 4th, our High Team placed 3rd and our Intermediate Team placed 1st at their respective levels. Congratulations to the following skaters for such a great high school season: Jillian Cowhey, Ella Ghillany, Katherine Quinn, Morgan Ridgway, Madison Rubis, Penelope Navarro, Natalie Duba, Daniel Korcek, Hannah Li, Milana Nekrasius, Genevieve Matzke, Sophia Harer, Sami Palansky, Tessa Brannigan, Alyssa Hees, Isabel Dockal, Sophia Castrovillari, Uliana Shvydkoy I cannot remember if they got 3rd or 4th overall at sectionals.
