Harmony for Change

Harmony for Change We use the power of music to bring awareness to societal issues. We hope to bring people together in

Harmony for Change is a group of socially-aware musicians and artists who have and continue to donate their artistic talents for the purpose of promoting positive change in the world. Working not for profit, each member hopes to instead use their work and resources to shed light on global issues. The concept was originally developed in the summer of 2010 by Mari Miranda of Alejandra, Costa Rica, a

nd Gary Belniak of Chicago, USA. After a discussion about the environmental disaster of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the pair discussed what they could do locally to create awareness for this issue. Both great artists, they soon developed the idea to use their talents to increase awareness of social issues through music. Mari and Gary’s initial efforts produced Children of the Earth. This song and video gave financial assistance to the Gulf relief effort as well as caught the eye of many other musicians, artists, and associations around the world. Since 2010, over 50 songwriters, musicians, singers, videographers, dancers and technicians have donated their time and talents to help Harmony for Change’s mission. The group has had great success over the past decade with three additional projects: Wall of Fire (2020), Not Today (2014), and Hands of Fate (2013). Currently, Harmony for Change is continuing to advocate for change and promote a better future for coming generations through the power of music.
