Kansas Night Hunters Association

Kansas Night Hunters Association The KNHA stands for the wise use of our natural resources and the conservation of our wild game and their habitats.

Night Hunting is the primary interest of the association, and the ultimate aim is the proper harvest of coyotes with thermal or night vision equipment in a humane and sportsmanlike manner. With this is mind, the KNHA does not hold to the theory that everyone can or should be a night hunter. Quite the contrary, the KNHA stipulates that only persons who are willing to put forth the effort to assure

that the sport will be undertaken in a humane, sportsmanlike manner should attempt to harvest coyotes with night vision equipment. Mission Statement of the Kansas Night Hunters Association

The Kansas Night Hunters Association is dedicated to promoting safe, ethical, and responsible nighttime hunting practices across the state of Kansas. Our mission is to foster a community of passionate hunters who respect wildlife conservation and natural habitats while advancing the sport of night hunting. We aim to educate, empower, and connect hunters with the tools, knowledge, and resources they need to pursue their passion, ensuring that night hunting remains a sustainable and safe activity for future generations.

08/31/2026

With the season opener this week Sept. 1st, we want to send out a reminder that anyone looking to Night Hunt this season make sure they purchase the proper permit. This is a friendly reminder to look for the permit option 150 - Resident Night Hunting Equipment Permit or the Nonresident version of this permit for folks from outside Kansas.

If you see an active permit on your account with the code
145 - Night Vision Equip Permit this is NOT VALID.

We have seen many reports that the old permit has not cleared the users account even though the permit is from last year and still says "Active" with no Item Status or valid date while only states the terms are (The Season) with no dates listed. This may confuse hunters thinking they already have a permit when they really don't. It would be nice if these permits automatically removed themselves after the season or would at least say expired like they do on other permits. You may need to refresh your account and purchase the current permit to replace this one. Night Hunting Equip Permits do not run year to year or 12 months. They are only valid for the current season ending March 31st. Happy hunting and be safe!
