Hey there, Jenny here reminding you that it’s still October and that means it’s still Adopt a Dog month! Though I’m quite content being here with my Cove Animal family, I would LOVE a forever home. Come on down to the shelter and let’s get acquainted!

It’s Monday Meows and we’re shining the spotlight on BB and one of his special talents as shared in this clip sent in by his adopter, Linda. BB (known as Eddie, when he was with us at Cove) was adopted this past August and he and Linda have been enjoying new adventures since!

Read Linda and BB’s adoption story on the News page on our website.

The heavy rain didn’t stop Beauty or Jenny from getting their steps in today! Well, Beauty did want to hurry back 🤭and she got a nice towel dry out of it😅but Jenny happily walked over two miles not caring about her or the volunteer getting drenched😆🌧️

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our Casino Night yesterday evening! We are very grateful for the generosity of those who attended in person, purchased sponsorships and donated money and items for raffles. To our dedicated staff, board, and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the event happen, we couldn’t have done it without your ongoing support. Thank you for showing our shelter animals some love by playing a vital role toward their lifesaving care.

Stay tuned for some photos and highlights from this fabulous event!

Tomorrow’s the Big Day! Cove Animal Rescue will be hosting their annual Casino Night at the Crescent Beach Club in Bayville, starting at 6:30 pm. You can imagine how busy we are with last-minute prep, but we’d like to take a moment to recognize our latest round of sponsors.

Many thanks to Animal Reiki Planet; Steve Geiringer; Joseph Gatto; Lauren and Fabio Goglia; James P. O’Day, C.P.A, P.C.; Frank and Michelle Petrizzo; and Telstar Integrated Solutions for their generous donations! They, along with everyone who has contributed to this year’s Casino Night so far, help provide the vital funding needed to support the shelter’s caregiving efforts for homeless dogs and cats.

There’s still time to donate/buy tickets! Visit our website to purchase online, call the shelter at 516-676-5913, or stop by.

A few of our canine cuties, Beauty, Murphy, Jenny, and Ralphie are thrilled that Adopt a Shelter Dog month starts today! They’re helping us spread the word that shelter dogs make great pets. Interested? Stop by the shelter soon for a meet & greet!

Can’t adopt just yet? Consider these other ways to support our shelter dogs:
• Fostering a dog temporarily can provide the experience of a home environment and helps increase the animal’s chance of adoption.
• Volunteering your time to walk, help socialize, and provide care.
• Donating, financially or with supplies or food.
• Contributing to our Casino Night benefit, coming up right around the corner on October 7. Visit our website to sign up/donate.
