CONGRATULATIONS TO SARAH AND CHRISTIAN!
The Tribute and Honor Foundation was proud to recognize 2026 Ben Farnan Scholarship recipients Sarah Ayiku and Christian Choi during a special presentation ceremony held Sunday afternoon at Glenwood Landing American Legion Post 336.

Sarah, a graduating senior from Glen Cove High School, will be entering the United States Army as a Combat Medic. Christian, a graduating senior from North Shore High School, has earned an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he will begin his journey toward becoming an Army officer.

Each year, the Ben Farnan Scholarship honors outstanding young people who have chosen a path of service to our nation. The Foundation is grateful for the opportunity to recognize these remarkable students and their commitment to leadership, service, and country.

Special thanks to Korean War veteran Ben Farnan, whose legacy continues to inspire future generations. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the many veterans, families, friends, community leaders, elected officials, Foundation volunteers, and supporters who joined us for this memorable occasion.

The Foundation is especially grateful to The Regency at Glen Cove and the Stanco-Stone family for providing refreshments, and to Commander Bill Manfredonia and the members of Glenwood Landing American Legion Post 336 for hosting the event in collaboration with the Tribute and Honor Foundation.

Congratulations once again to Sarah and Christian, and to your families. Your community is proud of you, grateful for your commitment to service, and wishes you every success in the years ahead.

BANNER UNVEILING – GLEN COVE SALUTES 2026 🇺🇸
Thank you to everyone who joined us this past Sunday in Morgan Memorial Park for the 5th Annual Glen Cove Salutes Banner Unveiling and Scholarship Award Presentation. Despite the rain, it was a meaningful morning as we honored the veterans and active-duty service members represented throughout the park and celebrated the spirit of service, sacrifice, and community.

Congratulations to Michael Renga on being named this year’s Student Essay Contest winner and scholarship recipient.

Special thank you to Lydia Wen Rodgers for her continued dedication and leadership in helping grow this important community tradition. We also pause to remember the legacy of Tony Jimenez, whose vision, service, and love for veterans helped inspire and shape the Glen Cove Salutes program from the very beginning.

The banners will be on display in Morgan Memorial Park through Columbus Day. For more information, visit glencovesalutes.com.

TRIBUTE AND HONOR FOUNDATION IN GLEN COVE MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
The Tribute and Honor Foundation was honored to once again participate in this year’s Glen Cove Memorial Day Parade — a moving tribute to the servicemen and women who gave their lives in defense of our nation. Our appreciation to the Memorial Day Parade Committee and all who contribute to making the parade such a memorable event.

Continuing a tradition we deeply value, we were grateful to have Tenor Joe Stroppel with us once again, lending his immense vocal talent and adding a powerful and emotional presence to the day. It was a true privilege to participate. Thank you to the community of Glen Cove, to our veterans, and to the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Special thanks to our dedicated board members and volunteers who marched with us today, and an especially giant thank you to Victor Garcia Sr. and Victor Garcia Jr. for once again driving the truck and pulling the Tribute and Honor Foundation float. Your friendship, generosity, and continued support mean so much to all of us.
