🎃 Halloween crafts are getting packed up and ready to ship tomorrow! 👻

We are so excited to get these fun craft kits into the hands of the kiddos and bring a little Halloween fun to families going through childhood cancer!

A HUGE thank you to our amazing donors! Because of your generosity, we can continue offering programs like our holiday craft kits year-round. These little activities may seem simple, but they can bring some much-needed smiles and moments of joy during incredibly difficult times.

🎗️ Childhood cancer affects more than the child receiving treatment. 💛

Approximately 1 in 2 siblings of children with cancer report symptoms of post-traumatic distress.

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, life changes for their brothers and sisters, too. Routines are disrupted. Families may spend long periods apart. Siblings can experience fear, loneliness, worry, and uncertainty while watching someone they love go through something no child should have to face.

They may not be the ones receiving treatment, but they are living through childhood cancer, too.

This is one of the reasons One Ribbon United believes siblings deserve to be seen, remembered, encouraged, and supported throughout the cancer journey. 💛

🎗️ Our children deserve more. 💛

For many children, beating cancer does not mean leaving cancer behind. Treatment can save a child’s life while also leaving them with health challenges that may follow them for years—or for the rest of their lives.

These children have already endured more than most of us can imagine. They deserve treatments designed specifically for their growing bodies. They deserve research that gives them the best chance not only to survive but also to grow up healthy and pursue the futures they dream of.

And yet, only a small portion of federal cancer research funding is dedicated to childhood cancers.

Kids deserve more.
More research. More effective treatments. Fewer long-term effects. More birthdays. More tomorrows. 💛

🎗️ Progress gives us reason to be grateful. The children still fighting give us reason to keep going. 💛

Childhood cancer death rates have declined 70% since 1970—an incredible reminder of what research, better treatments, and advances in pediatric cancer care can accomplish.

But childhood cancer is still the leading cause of death from disease among children in the United States. In 2025 alone, an estimated 9,550 children ages 0–14 were expected to be diagnosed with cancer, and approximately 1,050 were expected to lose their lives to it.

Those 1,050 aren't simply a statistic. They are children who were loved beyond measure. They had favorite toys, favorite foods, silly laughs, big personalities, and people who dreamed of watching them grow up.

We can be thankful for how far we've come while recognizing how much further we need to go.

Every number represents a child whose world changed with the words “you have cancer.” A child who traded ordinary days for hospital rooms, blood draws, scans, surgeries, chemotherapy, and treatments no child should ever have to endure.

They are children who still want to play, laugh, learn, celebrate birthdays, and dream about who they will become.

While we are incredibly grateful for the progress that has been made in treating childhood cancer, there is still so much more to be done so that every child has the opportunity for a long and healthy future.

This is why Childhood Cancer Awareness Month matters. Because every child deserves the chance to grow up. Every child deserves a future. Every child deserves more birthdays. 🎗️💛

🎗️💛 SEPTEMBER IS CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

Today marks the beginning of a month dedicated to shining a light on childhood cancer and the incredible children who face a battle no child should ever have to fight.

Behind every gold ribbon is a child.

A child who has endured hospital stays, surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, scans, procedures, medications, and days when simply being a kid had to be put on hold.

Some are fighting today.
Some are celebrating remission.
Some are living with the lasting effects of treatment.
And some are forever remembered.

Throughout September, One Ribbon United will be raising awareness about the realities of childhood cancer. We will be sharing statistics, facts, and information to help our community better understand childhood cancer, the impact of treatment, and why continued awareness and support are so important.
