Flag Day is celebrated on June 14 to commemorate the Second Continental Congress's adoption of the Stars and Stripes as the official U.S. flag in 1777. Though established in 1777, it took nearly two centuries of grassroots campaigning and presidential proclamations to become an official national observance.

A Memorial Day Service took place at The Glen Campbell Legion and Cherry Tree Monument. Kim Seipel who is a legionnaire and Auxiliary member provided beautiful musical entertainment. Members of the legionnaires and Sons visited 13 cemeteries to pay their respects. The Auxiliary hosted a roast beef dinner for the participants.
