The first recipient of the Beacon Award, Stealey Ashley, exemplifies leadership. Stealey accepted the AAWGT presidency with little notice, even though she had not expected or planned to take on the role, and led the Circle through a transitional period with calm, grace, and determination. During her presidency, she encouraged teamwork, supported the development of the NextGen Committee, and championed the strategic planning process while making space for other leaders to contribute and succeed. Like a beacon, Stealey helped others navigate uncertainty and reminded us what it means to answer the call when our members need someone most.

Last night, we celebrated the outstanding service of our 2026 Founders’ Award recipients, Mary Ann Bleeke and Maryann Gosnell! Each year, the Founders’ Award recognizes members whose exemplary service and dedication have made a lasting impact on Anne Arundel Women Giving Together.

We also introduced a new honor, the Beacon Award, recognizing someone who steps forward during an unexpected time of need to provide guidance, stability, and service that helps the Circle move forward. Congratulations to Stealey Ashley, our inaugural Beacon Award recipient, for this well-deserved recognition!

Enjoy dinner and drinks, meet inspiring women, make new connections, and learn how you can get involved in collective giving and our community. It’s a great opportunity for younger and early- to mid-career women to connect with AAWGT members, so bring a friend or colleague!
