Join us for AAWGT's Next Gen Networking Night on Thursday, July 30th, from 6:30–8:30pm at Broadneck Grill & Cantina for an evening of connection, conversation, and community impact designed for early- and mid-career women. All AAWGT members are encouraged to attend and bring a NextGen-aged friend, colleague, daughter, niece, or other woman to introduce them to our community and the power of collective philanthropy.

The event is free to attend (registration is encouraged), and Broadneck Grill & Cantina will donate 10% of food sales from 5:00–9:00pm to support AAWGT's grantmaking for local nonprofits. Register here:

Announcing the 2026-2027 Steering Committee Members!

Behind every AAWGT event, volunteer opportunity, and grant award is a dedicated team of volunteers. As an all-volunteer organization, our members make it possible to host signature educational programs, coordinate meaningful service projects, engage 442 members, and invest more than $260,000 in grant funding throughout our community this past year.

Thank You, Stealey — Welcome, Ellen!
As we celebrate another incredible year at Anne Arundel Women Giving Together, we want to recognize Stealey Ashley for her outstanding leadership and dedication as president. Under her guidance, AAWGT achieved a record-breaking grant fund distribution ($262,913!!) and grew membership to 443 members — an increase of nearly 100 women committed to making a difference in our community.

But beyond the numbers, Stealey is most proud of helping establish NextGen Committee, adopting a Strategic Plan to guide AAWGT’s future, and encouraging greater member participation — especially in committee work, with 18 new members joining the Steering Committee this year. Most of all, she treasured the opportunity to help lead such an amazing group of dedicated women whose enthusiasm and passion made the work a true joy.

Thank you, Stealey, for your vision, leadership, and heart. And now, we are excited to welcome Ellen Shiery as our new president as we look ahead to another impactful year together!

Recently, a group of AAWGT members volunteered at HOPE For All, where they learned more about the organization's incredible impact while helping sort five pallets of winter jackets for its clothing program.

HOPE For All provides furniture, household essentials, and clothing to individuals and families in our community who lack the financial means to meet their basic needs. Each year, the organization serves hundreds of families, veterans, older adults, and individuals facing difficult circumstances—with more than half of those served being children.

By helping transform empty houses into welcoming homes, HOPE For All empowers people to move toward greater stability and self-sufficiency. We are grateful for the opportunity to support their mission through service and to see firsthand the meaningful difference they make in Anne Arundel County. Our June Getting Together was a wonderful opportunity to connect, network, and strengthen relationships with fellow AAWGT members and guests. Best of all, these member-hosted gatherings come at no cost to the organization, helping us maximize our impact—including more than $225,000 in grant funding invested in our community last year.
