UPDATE: Cedar Firefighters are still working on a large, multi-alarm commercial fire at Leelanau Redi Mix on Newman Rd. Again, be cautious of emergency vehicles and personnel in the area. More information will be provided as it develops.

We would like to congratulate our neighbors, Cedar Professional Fire Fighters IAFF Local 4953, on their millages passing! This is a HUGE benefit for their taxpayers as they will be able to provide advanced medical care on scene rather that wait for an intercept with ALS. Between 70-80% of all fire department responses are medicals and being able to provide advanced life support has been shown to significantly improve patient outcomes.

This is much deserved and long overdue and we’re excited to see their progress in the near future. Congratulations, brothers and sisters!
