✨✨Some acts of service happen in uniform. Others happen simply because someone chooses to help another human being without ever actually meeting them first. ✨✨
Today, we have the privilege of sharing an INCREDIBLE story about one of our own — a member of Glen Lake Firefighters Local 5086 and our fire department — Morgan Ann whose willingness to become a stem cell donor ultimately helped save a man’s life.
There were no lights and sirens. No tones dropping. No expectation of recognition. Just one person making the selfless decision to say yes when given the opportunity to potentially save the life of someone she had never met. Because of that decision, a stranger was given something that can’t be measured — more time. More time with family. More milestones. More memories. More ordinary days that suddenly mean everything.
And now, getting to watch the moment these two finally meet and seeing the face behind the life that was changed makes this story even more powerful.
Being a firefighter is about serving others, but that commitment to helping people doesn’t end when the uniform comes off. This is an extraordinary example of compassion, selflessness, and what it means to show up for another person simply because you can.
We are incredibly proud to call her not only a member of our department, but a sister of Glen Lake Firefighters Local 5086.
You never know how one decision, one donation, or one act of kindness can completely change another person’s story. In this case, it helped give someone the chance to keep writing his.
