The Glasgow Rec Center is a location within the Boonslick Heartland YMCA organization. Offering 24/7 access, the rec center includes a variety of cardio and strength equipment. Beyond the Wellness Area, the GRC has recently remodeled the attached warehouse. This area offers a basketball court and a pickleball cou

rt, which can also be set up for volleyball. Our rec center stands as a 24/7 facility where you must be a member of the Glasgow Rec Center to visit. We no longer allow guest passes at this location and it is not part of the Y's National Reciprocity since the facility is not staffed. Our Boonville location does participate in National Reciprocity during staff hours. GRC follows the mission of the Y- To bring Christian Principles into practice through programming in the areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. Members. when we completed the addition of the basketball and pickleball courts, we were, and still are, excited for the additional space this allowed us to offer.
Over the years, we have noticed the floor surface can be a tad slick. Due to a gracious donor specifically for this project, we are going to take the time to update the surface of court floors. To do this we will be closing the courts. The process will begin this week with volunteers removing the current floor covering and around August 31st, we anticipate the contractor will begin on the new floor surface. This means the courts and the 'back' free weight room will become unavailable for a few weeks. We hope you will understand as we make these updates will make the floor more welcoming to for the faster pace movements and activities that take place on the courts. Please do not visit the spaces that will become marked as unavailable. We ask this for your safety and for the proper procedure of allowing the new floor to cure. Thank you for your understanding and another thank you to our donor and the volunteers who are helping with the project.
