This Tuesday of giving is a reminder that small acts of kindness whether financial, or otherwise can have a significant impact on communities.

This Holiday Season, we are very humbled by the amount of support we have received from the community over the past 12 months to provide both food to those in need and to achieve our goal of a new home for the food bank. We are a little over halfway to our goal for the new building and any and all support is appreciated.

If you happen to be over the age of 70 1/2 and are dealing with required minimum distributions from your retirement account there a unique opportunity to support worthwhile organizations such as ours. A qualified charitable distribution is a tax efficient way for individuals 70 1/2 or older to donate directly from individual retirement account to a qualified charity. In the end, it can benefit both you and the charity tax free. Please reach out to your accountant or the manager of your IRA for more information.
