Well, Blue Lake made the news with the wildland fire that happened a couple days ago, at the west side of the lake. Luckily no one was hurt and everyone's homes were spared. We thank the Gladwin Fire Dept and the DNR for putting this 22 acre fire out.

Blue Lake had a forest fire today. The fire started east of Island Lake and crept across to the back of Blue Lake. 4 homes were evacuated on the west side of the lake across from Baker's house. The fire is out and no homes were damaged. People were allowed to go back to their homes early this the evening. (Photo from across the street from 5119 Blue Lake).

Let’s take a moment to say thank you to this awesome team for their 2 1/2 hours last night and a couple hours last week returning bottles for our fish fund 🐠💙

(Riggs who napped most of time but then was charming, Nick, Bobbie, Kaleigh, Spencer who got in all his “steps” 😂, Dan, David and River who is finally tall enough to reach the bottle returns)

Fun fact, Kaleigh and Spencer have been returning bottles for about 10 years now, which would make them around 16 and 8 when they started 😅. Kaleigh now has the next generation of Blue Lakers with River & Riggs helping out.
