Our motto: Helping Those In Need With A Helping Hand. The volunteers who belong to this club are individuals who care about the people within Gladwin County. The Big Boys Club of Gladwin County is a 501c3 organization (EIN 77-0713086). History:

Our club was established in 2000 by people wanting to be of assistance to those in need. Originally named The Wooden Shoe Big Boys, the name was later ch

anged in 2009 to the Big Boys Club of Gladwin County since we provide assistance to the residents of Gladwin County. Over the years, the Big Boys have given well over $150,000 in assistance to the Gladwin community. How we help:

People in need of basic services are provided assistance with items such as:

- Fuel, electric and water bills.

- Assisting seniors in the high rises with meal tickets, haircuts, holiday gift bags

- Assisting high school students with athletic fees, uniforms, photos, cap and gowns.

- Chaperone the youth golf program at Gladwin Heights.

- Partnering with and giving to organizations such as: Christmas Kindness, New Dawn Shelter, Hospice of Gladwin County Area, Sacred Heart Mission, MDHHS, Salvation Army, and the Gladwin County Baby Pantry. Funding:

Our primary source of funding is our annual golf outing at Gladwin Heights in August. Another avenue for funding has been via The United Way. In past years, funds have been raised by putting on events such as yard sales, pool tournaments, bake sales, rummage sales and chili cookoffs. We are currently reviewing new funding methods. Monday was a busy day for the Big Boys Club of Gladwin County. The day started with the Adopt-A-Road cleaning of M30 between Sugar Springs Rd and Stillwagon Rd. 17 Bags of trash was collected and placed by the side of the road.

After Lunch, the Big Boys stopped in at the Sacred Heart Mission for Gladwin County MI to sort the cans of food collected by the US Mail carriers from Saturday.
