Scouting is a year-round program uniquely designed to meet the needs of young boys and their parents. The program offers fun and challenging activities that promote character development, citizenship, and physical fitness. Service projects, ceremonies, games, and other activities guide boys through the core values and give them a sense of personal achievement. Through positive peer group interacti

on and parental guidance, boys also learn honesty, responsibility and respect. Family involvement is an essential part of Cub Scouting, and parents are encouraged to play an active role in the program. Through interaction with parents, leaders, and friends, boys learn cooperation, compassion, and courage. This family and community-centered approach to learning means that Scouting is truly time well spent.

There’s been quite a few Eagle Service projects in the works.

Congratulations to Tanner Leck on completing his Eagle Scout service project for Turning Point!

Tanner and his crew built a bench and two planter boxes, measuring, cutting, assembling and staining each piece. Their hard work created a wonderful addition for the organization.

Great job, Tanner!

While we’re on Troop 7354 news, we would like to share that Fiona Rollie earned her Eagle Scout rank! The first in Troop 7354. (She officially earned it in April.)

This is an incredible achievement and the result of years of hard work, dedication, leadership and service. Earning Eagle is one of the highest honors in Scouting, and Fiona should be very proud of everything she has accomplished.

Congratulations, Fiona! Troop 7354 is proud of you.

Huge shout-out to Rori Gates for completing her Eagle Scout service project! Congratulations, Rori!

Huge shout-out to Rori Gates for completing her Eagle Scout service project! Congratulations, Rori!

A huge thank you to Rori from Troop 7354 at Fairview Christian Church in Gladstone for choosing Kitty Cat Connection for her Eagle Scout project! A few months ago, she reached out wanting to make blankets for our kitties, and she absolutely delivered.

These blankets are the perfect size for our cats and kittens and will be used every single day to help keep them cozy and comfortable. We are so incredibly grateful for the time, effort, and love that went into this project. Thank you, Rori, for making a difference for our rescue cats! 🐾

This past weekend, Troop 354 held its annual pack/troop campout at Kelsey Short. Scouts of all ages joined in, with the girls and boys troops providing food and entertainment throughout the weekend.

Activities included kite flying, campfire skits, merit badge classes and a special highlight — George Gates presenting the ceremonial “bear claws.”

Thank you to everyone who attended, and a special thanks to the adults who helped make the campout a success.

Leave the road...Take the trails. Scouts from Troop 1354 spent this March exploring the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation in the off-season.

Did you know you can book Bartle or Naish outside of summer camp? Learn more about off-season camping opportunities at hoac-bsa.org/off-season-camping
