Glacier Valley Transit Glacier Valley Transit (GVT) is a non profit public transportation system providing free public trans This service is weather and time dependent.

• Glacier Valley Transit was founded in 2008 to serve Girdwood’s public transportation needs.
• In 2010 GVT became a 501c(3) private, non-profit . It is funded through Federal grants, contracts with local businesses, and local donations.
• GVT has shown steady growth since 2008 and in 2019 GVT carried over 95,000 passengers.
• GVT is fare free but local donations are necessary to continue this se

rvice.
• Tipping the driver is not allowed under FTA regulations, but your donations allow us to pay our drivers a great wage.

Happy Forest Fair Girdwood! Expect delays in the schedule due to increased traffic Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Do you have guests planning on taking the bus to the train depot to catch the train to Whittier or Spencer Glacier on Saturday? Be prepared to take the 9:20 am bus, as the Alyeska Highway will be closed From 10 am to 11 am on Saturday for the parade. We will run the until approximately 12:00am Friday and Saturday evenings . Hop on the bus to keep our roads safe, and to relieve traffic and parking congestion. As always the ride is free but donations are encouraged. Donate by texting BusRide to 53-555 See less
