This summer, we watched curiosity take over.
In Seward, girls learned to use atlatls and explored the Indigenous technologies and traditions that shaped life in our region.
Campers traced the Kenai River watershed across maps and landscapes, asking bigger questions about salmon and the ecosystems they depend on.
In Whittier, a kayak trip through Sh***un Cove turned into an encounter with hundreds of moon jellies drifting through seagrass. The planned lesson paused as campers sat in awe, asking questions about the ocean and their place within it.
These moments of wonder, connection, and discovery are what our Coastal Connections Camps are all about!
Thank you to , Sea Grant, , Community Foundation, Park Foundation, Ocean Alaska Science and Learning Center, and our many community partners for helping make these experiences possible.
