To my community,

My 9-year term with the Girard Area Community Foundation (GACF) has come to an end. I was able to serve as Treasurer for the first several years and have been President for the last four.

Part of GACF’s mission is to foster positive change and progress in Girard and the neighboring communities. But my favorite part of our mission statement is “to ensure that our communities remain a great place to call home.” My passion is to make our community better than it was yesterday and I will continue to spread myself over these organizations that I believe in until someone tells me to stop. 😉

In my 9 years, I have watched our assets increase from $800K to $2M and our granting dollars increase from $16,000 per year to $65,000 per year. It has truly been fascinating to watch these numbers grow and to be able to physically see these dollars go straight back into our community!

It has been my pleasure, over the past 9 years, to be able to work and connect with some of Girard's top leaders and these connections will benefit me for my entire life. For that, I am truly thankful.

I highly encourage everyone to read more on community foundations and what they have to offer. I also highly encourage you to connect with GACF's board members to see how you can help and how this foundation could benefit you.

Girard is incredibly lucky to have a successful community foundation, and I am excited to pass the reins on and watch it grow from the sidelines!

🎉 A Historic Day for Girard Medical Center! 🎉

Today, we proudly celebrated the ribbon cutting for GMC’s brand-new CT Machine — made possible by the incredible generosity and support of our community!

The Girard Medical Center Foundation would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who played a part in bringing this project to life. Because of you, we raised an amazing $236,376.00 — enough to purchase the new CT machine and provide additional, much-needed updates to our Radiology Department. 💙🏥

We want to recognize and thank the following Foundations for their generous community grants:

✨ Mount Carmel Foundation Legacy Grant through the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas – $25,000.00
