Happy Birthday 🎉🎈🎂 to the food pantry’s tech guru, our sweet Kaylee Long. She’s our behind the scenes go to for computer questions, grant writing, monthly reporting to the Kansas Food Bank, and filling in on short notice.
The story never gets old, her mother told her she needed to volunteer somewhere to get involved in the community when she first moved to town. Little did she know 😂😂😂😂.
Have a great birthday, thank you for all you do for the Community Food Pantry.

All 1,259 food items donated by the community!
Thank you to the Girard Boy Scouts Pack 84 and Troop 84 for going around town to collect it, bright and early Saturday morning.
The boys, girls, and their leaders were a joy to work with. The group checked each and every item for expiration dates, counted each item and then stocked the shelves. Thank you all for making this such a successful project. Thank you to the community for supporting their project.

❤️🥖 SPREAD the L❤️AF! 🥖❤️

We are incredibly grateful to partner with TOAST through their Spread the Loaf program! Each month, we receive a generous donation of freshly baked bread that goes directly to the individuals and families we serve.

Access to fresh bread may seem simple, but for many in our community, it makes a difference. These monthly donations help us provide not just food, but nourishment and care.

Thank you, Toast, for helping us spread the loaf and the love throughout our community. ❤️

There's still time to find a Girard Trojan student and give them a donation to the Can War competition between Girard and Frontenac schools. Every donation here on out will count toward the total collected.
It's a win-win for the students and the Community Food Pantry!
Donations can also be dropped off at the schools by the end of the day, Tuesday, Feb.17.

We are deeply grateful for the $17,650 awarded through community foundations and grants that supported our pantry in 2025.

This generosity goes far beyond dollars—it means milk in the fridge and the ability to show up for our neighbors when they need it most.

Thank you for believing in our mission, for investing in our community, and for being part of the good that happens here every day. We truly could not do this work without you. ❤️

We would like to extend heartfelt thank you to the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas, Girard Area Community Foundation, Heartland Rural Electric Co-Op, Farm Credit Services, and Pritchett Trust.
